Rugby Player Performance
Player Stat and Score
In OVAL3, there are two distinct measures used to evaluate player performance: Player stats and Player scores.
While player stats represent a historical and weighted average of a player's performance over the last season, player scores provide a real-time assessment of a player's current performance within the game.
The historical perspective of player stats takes into account the player's consistency and overall contribution throughout the season, providing a comprehensive assessment of their abilities.
On the other hand, player scores are dynamic and reflect a player's real-time performance within the game. These scores are constantly updated and influenced by the actions and outcomes of the player's performances in matches, tournaments, and other in-game activities.
Player Stats
Player stats in OVAL3 are calculated using a comprehensive system that takes into account five key attributes: Strength, Skills, Impact, Defense, and Attack. These attributes are derived from an extensive database of elementary and primary player skills, creating a rich tapestry of performance indicators. The primary skills of players are meticulously evaluated and aggregated to determine their contribution to each attribute.

To ensure accuracy and reliability, player performances in OVAL3 are obtained from a renowned sports data provider. This data provider furnishes the game with up-to-date and authentic information on real-life player performances, including their achievements, statistics, and overall impact on the field.
The calculation of player scores serves as a vital component in determining their impact within the game. It takes into consideration a player's physical strength, technical skills, influential moments, defensive capabilities, and offensive prowess. This holistic approach captures the multidimensional nature of rugby and allows players to strategize and compose teams based on a deep understanding of the attributes that contribute to success in the sport.
How it is calculated
OVAL3 player stats are derived by aggregating the performance of each player across the five skill areas which is then averaged (weighted) over the course of the last season. Throughout the season, a player's performance in each skill area, namely Strength, Skills, Impact, Defense, and Attack, is closely monitored and recorded. We have developed a scoring algorithm that assigns weights to each skill area depending on the player's position. These weights are used in the final calculation of the player's stat.
This approach takes into account the player's consistency and performance over multiple matches, offering a comprehensive and reliable representation of their abilities. By considering the season as a whole, OVAL3 ensures that temporary fluctuations or isolated performances do not overshadow a player's overall skill set.

Player Score
This is the immediate performance of a player in a current game week. The final score of a player is hence a function the player card rarity (immutable), its XP and its realtime player stat.
For Oval3 players and card collectors, the goal is to collect players from several teams and leagues, with different levels (XP) and degrees of rarity. Players will use their cards to compete in Oval3 tournaments while collectors track down the rarest and most valuable cards on the market to build up a notorious collection of cards.
